COMMEMORATING the 40th Anniversary of Putnam
Community Action Partnership
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to publicly
acknowledge those organizations whose endeavors serve the best interests
of the citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
longstanding traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Putnam Community Action Partnership;
and
WHEREAS, Putnam Community Action Partnership's mission is to
mobilize and efficiently manage resources through partnerships and
collaborations to help low-income and at-risk populations achieve
greater self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, Putnam Community Action Partnership (CAP), is a component
of Westchester Community Opportunity Program (WestCOP); and
WHEREAS, WestCOP was founded in 1965 under the Economic Opportunity
Act, and is a private not-for-profit multi-service organization serving
the lower Hudson Valley of New York; and
WHEREAS, In 1986, WestCOP expanded services into Putnam County, New
York when it opened Putnam CAP; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Putnam Community Action Partnership is
in direct correlation to the unwavering efforts and commitment of its
members and leadership; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional organization, its numerous important
contributions, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of life in
its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Putnam Community Action Partnership;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Putnam Community Action Partnership.
