Assembly Resolution No. 129

        COMMEMORATING  the  Centennial  Anniversary of the
        New York State Association of Counties
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
pay   tribute   to  those  organizations  of  high  purpose  and  worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commemorate the Centennial Anniversary of the New York State Association
of Counties; and
 
  WHEREAS, The New York State  Association  of  Counties  (NYSAC)  was
established  in  1925  by a group of county officials who wanted to come
together in a collective voice to  advocate  for  New  York  State's  57
counties and the five boroughs of New York City; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Over  its 100 year history, NYSAC has focused on improving
the efficacy of  county  governments  through  training  and  education,
research  and  tireless  advocacy,  all designed to address the specific
challenges faced by county officials and their communities; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Over  the  last  century,  NYSAC  has  been   pivotal   in
championing  the interests of county officials at both state and federal
levels, ensuring that the concerns and needs of  local  governments  are
heard and addressed; and
 
  WHEREAS,  NYSAC  has  delivered  essential  support,  resources  and
training  to  county  officials,  providing  them  with  the   necessary
knowledge  and  tools to effectively and efficiently serve the residents
of New York State; and
 
  WHEREAS, Through its unwavering commitment  to  practical  research,
NYSAC  has  nurtured  innovative  solutions and best practices that have
enhanced county operations and elevated the quality of life for millions
of New Yorkers; and
 
  WHEREAS, NYSAC has fostered a legacy of cooperation and  partnership
among county governments, promoting a spirit of unity and mutual support
essential   for   tackling   common   challenges  and  achieving  shared
objectives; and
 
  WHEREAS, The  Centennial  Anniversary  of  NYSAC  is  a  significant
milestone,  celebrating  the association's enduring commitment to public
service and its substantial impact on the governance and  well-being  of
New York State's counties and local leaders; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the New York State  Association  of
Counties,  recognizing  its invaluable contributions to the counties and
residents of New York State; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the New York State Association of Counties.
