Assembly Resolution No. 1395

        COMMEMORATING  the 100th Anniversary of the Boys &
        Girls Clubs of Buffalo, New York
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
commend  organizations of outstanding purpose whose endeavors contribute
to the quality of life in their communities and throughout the State  of
New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commemorate  the 100th Anniversary of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo,
New York, to be celebrated on Thursday, May 14, 2026; and
 
  WHEREAS, For a century, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo have stood
as one of Western New York's most trusted and enduring youth development
organizations; and
 
  WHEREAS, What began in 1926 with a single Rotary gift has grown into
a powerful legacy of impact, providing safe spaces, caring mentors,  and
life-changing  opportunities to generations of young people ages 5 to 18
throughout the City of Buffalo; and
 
  WHEREAS, As this organization celebrates 100 years of service, it is
fitting  to  recognize  not  only  its  rich  history,  but   also   the
significance  of  reaching  such  a rare and distinguished milestone, as
very few Boys & Girls Clubs  across  the  nation  achieve  a  centennial
anniversary; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  historic  moment  reflects  a century of resilience,
steadfast community support, and an  unwavering  commitment  to  serving
youth; and
 
  WHEREAS,  From  its earliest days to the present, the mission of the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo has  remained  constant:  to  ensure  that
every  young  person  who  walks through its doors has access to a safe,
stable environment where success is within reach; and
 
  WHEREAS, Through high-quality after-school and  summer  programming,
the  organization  provides  consistent and essential support during the
critical hours when young people need it most, helping members  graduate
from high school with a plan for their future and the foundation to lead
healthy, productive lives; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Throughout  its history, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo
has been at the forefront of youth  development,  serving  young  people
from  disadvantaged  social,  economic,  and  family  circumstances with
compassion, purpose, and dedication; and
 
  WHEREAS, Today, the organization operates five clubs across the City
of Buffalo, including two on the East Side, two on the  West  Side,  and
the  original  South Buffalo location on Babcock Street, which continues
to serve as a cornerstone of its enduring legacy; and
 
  WHEREAS, Through innovative programming and comprehensive wraparound
services, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo continues to invest  in  the
future of the community, one child at a time; and
 
  WHEREAS, As it looks toward the next century, the Boys & Girls Clubs
of  Buffalo  remains  steadfast  in  its commitment to empowering youth,
strengthening  families,  and  building  a  brighter,   more   equitable
community for all; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Boys & Girls Clubs of  Buffalo,
New  York,  and  to  honor  its  remarkable legacy of service; and be it
further
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body congratulate the Boys  &  Girls
Clubs of Buffalo on this momentous occasion, and extend its sincere best
wishes for continued success in empowering the lives of young people for
many years to come; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo, New York.
