Assembly Resolution No. 480

        MOURNING   the   death   of   Louis   R.  Ligouri,
        distinguished citizen  and  devoted  member  of  his
        community
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life  in  their  communities  and  this
great Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Louis  R. Ligouri of Endicott, New York, died on Thursday,
July 1, 2021; and
 
  WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Broome County, Louis R. Ligouri  was
born  and  raised  in  Endicott;  he graduated from SUNY Binghamton (now
Binghamton University) with a master's degree in Management Science; and
 
  WHEREAS, Louis R. Ligouri distinguished himself  in  his  profession
and  by  his  sincere  dedication  and  substantial  contribution to the
welfare of his community; and
 
  WHEREAS, For 25 years, Louis R. Ligouri worked  for  The  Prudential
Insurance  Company  as  a  representative,  sales  manager,  and general
manager; he also worked in the financial services department of BSB Bank
& Trust for five years before  becoming  the  co-Founder  and  Executive
Director of the Endicott Performing Arts Center (EPAC); and
 
  WHEREAS, Louis R. Ligouri's commitment to excellence, and his spirit
of  humanity,  carried  over  into  all  fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors; and
 
  WHEREAS, Louis R. Ligouri was involved in  the  performing  arts  as
both  a performer and a producer for many years; in addition to the EPAC
Repertory Company, he appeared with many other local  theater  companies
including  the St. Anthony Players, SRO Productions, and the Ballet Arts
Theatre; and
 
  WHEREAS, Some of his performance credits  include  "Fiddler  on  the
Roof" (Tevye), "Tommy" (Uncle Ernie), "Jesus Christ Superstar" (Ciaphas)
and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" (Senex); and
 
  WHEREAS, In 2010, Louis R. Ligouri was the recipient of the Heart of
the  Arts  Award  for making a significant impact on and contributing to
the arts in Broome County; and
 
  WHEREAS, Together with Artistic  Director  Patrick  Foti,  Louis  R.
Ligouri  helped produce hundreds of shows at EPAC since its inception in
1998; they also founded one of the first children's theater workshops in
the area in 1996, the St. Anthony Players Youth Troupe; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Predeceased  by  his  parents,  Ray  and  Rose  (Quaranta)
Ligouri,  and his brother, Armando Ligouri, Louis R. Ligouri is survived
by his wife, Tracy "TJ" (Johnson);  daughter,  Heather  (Dan)  Esposito;
son,  Lou  Jr.  (Kelly) Ligouri; three grandchildren, Sam, Eli and Lily;
 
sister-in- law, Diana Ligouri; and one brother, Anthony (Mary)  Ligouri;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Louis R. Ligouri leaves behind  a  legacy  which  will  long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he  served and befriended; he will be deeply missed and truly merits the
grateful tribute of this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
mourn  the  death  of  Louis  R.  Ligouri,  and  to  express its deepest
condolences to his family; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the family of Louis R. Ligouri.
