Assembly Resolution No. 529

        COMMENDING   Inspector  Victoria  Perry  upon  the
        occasion of her designation for special  recognition
        by the National Council of Negro Women-Queens County
        Section on June 8, 2025
 
  WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize   and  acknowledge  those  within  our  midst  who  have  made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commend Inspector Victoria Perry upon the occasion  of  her  designation
for  special  recognition  by the National Council of Negro Women-Queens
County Section, to be celebrated at its  37th  Annual  Black  and  White
Celebration  of  Honorees  on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Antun's in Queens
Village, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Inspector Victoria Perry is a  dedicated  and  accomplished
member  of the New York City Police Department, currently serving as the
Commanding Officer of the NYPD's Community  Affairs  Bureau,  where  she
leads  efforts  to  strengthen relationships between law enforcement and
local communities through open dialogue and engagement; and
 
  WHEREAS, Inspector  Victoria  Perry  began  her  distinguished  NYPD
career  in  2004,  with early assignments in Transit Districts No. 2 and
No. 20, as well  as  the  School  Safety  Division,  building  a  strong
foundation  for  her  future  leadership  through a variety of essential
frontline roles; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Demonstrating  consistent   excellence   and   leadership,
Inspector  Victoria  Perry  was promoted to Sergeant in 2009, serving in
several precincts including the 115th, 104th, and 110th, and was further
elevated to the rank of Lieutenant in 2014,  where  she  led  key  units
including Transit District No. 32 and the Uniform Assignment Unit within
the Personnel Orders Division; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In  2017,  Inspector  Victoria  Perry  rose to the rank of
Captain and was appointed Executive Officer of both the  94th  and  79th
Precincts,   followed  by  her  historic  appointment  in  2019  as  the
Commanding Officer  of  the  104th  Precinct,  where  she  continued  to
demonstrate operational leadership and community commitment; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Inspector  Victoria  Perry is a proud graduate of John Jay
College of Criminal Justice, having earned both  her  undergraduate  and
graduate  degrees,  and  further  distinguished herself nationally as an
alumnus of the prestigious FBI National Academy; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Throughout  her  career,  Inspector  Victoria  Perry   has
exemplified  excellence  in  both patrol and administrative assignments,
displaying a rare blend of operational expertise and strategic  insight,
making  her  a  model of leadership within the NYPD and a trusted bridge
between law enforcement and the communities it serves; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Inspector  Victoria  Perry's  professional  journey,  from
patrol  officer  to  Inspector,  stands  as  a powerful testament to her
resilience, vision, and unwavering  commitment  to  public  service  and
community trust; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are  brought  to  our
attention,  they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commend  Inspector  Victoria  Perry upon the occasion of her designation
for special recognition by the National Council  of  Negro  Women-Queens
County Section; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Inspector Victoria Perry.
