Assembly Resolution No. 627

        CONGRATULATING Dr. Varun Jeph upon the occasion of
        the  completion  of  his  service  as  Deputy Consul
        General of India in New York
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
pay tribute to those dedicated individuals who commit their professional
lives,  energy,  and resources to improving the quality and character of
life in their community, State, and Nation; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
congratulate Dr. Varun Jeph upon the occasion of the completion  of  his
service as Deputy Consul General of India in New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Dr.  Varun Jeph is a medical graduate from one of the most
prestigious medical schools  in  India;  he  has  devoted  his  esteemed
professional  career  to  serving  as a diplomat with around 15 years of
experience in the Indian Foreign Service; and
 
  WHEREAS, With a rich and diverse career background, Dr.  Varun  Jeph
served  as  Political  Officer  in  the  Indian  Embassy in Myanmar at a
significant time when the country was undergoing  political  transition;
he  also  served  at  the  Indian  High Commission in Malaysia, where he
headed the Political & Commercial Wings of the Mission; and
 
  WHEREAS, Between his overseas assignments, Dr. Varun Jeph served  in
New Delhi, India at the Ministry of External Affairs and was involved in
administration and human resource management of India's Foreign Service;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  In  September of 2021, Dr. Varun Jeph joined the Consulate
General of India in New York, where his duties involved supervising  the
daily  functions  of the Consulate-including its commercial and economic
outreach,  media  engagements,  cultural  activities,  and  delivery  of
consular services; and
 
  WHEREAS,  With  him  throughout his illustrious career have been his
wife Pallavi and their two sons-all of whom have felt privileged to be a
part of his fruitful life and rejoice in his many achievements; and
 
  WHEREAS, At the conclusion of his service as Deputy  Consul  General
of  India  in  New  York,  Dr. Varun Jeph hopes to spend time traveling,
meditating, reading, and  enjoying  the  company  of  his  family;  now,
therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Dr. Varun Jeph upon the occasion of the completion  of  his
service as Deputy Consul General of India in New York; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Varun Jeph.
