Assembly Resolution No. 684

        MOURNING  the death of Loren Lobban, distinguished
        citizen and devoted member of his community
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York  whose  lifework  and  civic  endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Loren Lobban, of Erie County, New York, died on Friday, May
9, 2025; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Loren  Lobban  earned  a  Bachelor  of Arts in History and
Psychology from the Northern Michigan University, a Master  of  Business
Administration from Medaille University in Buffalo, and law degrees from
the  State  University  of New York at Buffalo and the Norman Manley Law
School; and
 
  WHEREAS, After working in private practice for 35  years,  where  he
specialized  in  litigation,  Loren Lobban was appointed to the New York
State Workers' Compensation Board in 2010; for approximately 15 years on
the Board, he served with the utmost distinction and integrity,  working
in support of the Board's mission; his meaningful work touched the lives
of countless individuals; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Loren  Lobban had many years of experience as a practicing
attorney, representing individuals, businesses, and government;  he  was
the   principle  of  his  own  firm  and  Counsel  to  the  Erie  County
Legislature; he also volunteered his time, representing clients for  the
Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Loren  Lobban  always  acted  with  conviction  and a deep
commitment to his community; and
 
  WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a  sense  of
compassion,  Loren  Lobban leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting  memory  to  all  he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Loren Lobban; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the family of Loren Lobban.
