MOURNING the death of Lisa K. Nestor,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of the
Ossining community
WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who,
through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better
the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive
impact on the lives of its residents; Lisa K. Nestor was one such
individual; and
WHEREAS, It is with great sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Lisa K. Nestor, a lifelong
resident of Ossining, New York, who died on Sunday, June 1, 2025, noting
the significance of her purposeful life and accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Born on July 9, 1959, in North Tarrytown, Lisa K. Nestor
was the cherished daughter of A. Richard and Helen (Carlson) Kamp; and
WHEREAS, A woman of integrity and dedication, Lisa K. Nestor was a
proud graduate of Ossining High School, Class of 1977, where she
completed her studies with honors; she went on to graduate from the
Westchester Business Institute in White Plains, New York, in 1979; and
WHEREAS, On August 1, 1981, Lisa married the love of her life, James
P. Nestor, at St. Augustine's Church in Ossining, and together they
built a life centered on faith, family, and service to their community;
and
WHEREAS, Lisa K. Nestor dedicated many years of faithful service to
the Village of Ossining before her retirement in December 2024; her
professional life also included time at the bank then known as Wachovia
Bank in Ossining, and during her high school years she worked at Bethel
Nursing Home, demonstrating early her strong work ethic and compassion
for others; and
WHEREAS, Lisa K. Nestor is survived by her devoted husband, James P.
Nestor; her beloved sons, James C. Nestor and his wife Suzanne (Moyer),
and Ryan M. Nestor and his wife Jessica (Summers); her adored
grandchildren, Jackson, Cameron, and Camden; her loving mother, Helen
Kamp; her dear siblings, Richard Kamp, David Kamp and his wife Karen,
and Brenda Dias; as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of
treasured friends; and
WHEREAS, Lisa K. Nestor will long be remembered as a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, whose strength,
grace, and generosity profoundly touched the lives of all who knew her;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Lisa K. Nestor, and to extend sincere condolences to
her family and friends; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Lisa K. Nestor.
