COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of the
Whitesboro High School Football Program
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those longstanding institutions and athletic programs that have
contributed significantly to the development of young people, fostering
school spirit and community pride; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Whitesboro High School Football
Program to be celebrated on Friday, August 8, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1925, the Whitesboro High School Football
Program has served as a pillar of excellence within the Whitesboro
Central School District, developing young athletes, both on and off the
field, through dedication, discipline, and teamwork; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of its storied history, the Program has
become synonymous with athletic achievement, sportsmanship, and
community involvement, with generations of players and coaches proudly
wearing the blue and white; and
WHEREAS, Whitesboro Football has maintained a tradition of success
in Section III athletics, consistently competing for league and
sectional titles and producing countless student-athletes who have
embodied the values of leadership, perseverance, and integrity; and
WHEREAS, In recent years, the Program has reached remarkable
heights, advancing to the New York State Class A Championship Game for
two consecutive seasons, a testament to the hard work, talent, and
resilience of the student-athletes and coaching staff; and
WHEREAS, In 2023, the Whitesboro Football Team captured the Section
III Class A Championship with a dominant 55-6 victory over East
Syracuse-Minoa and went on to finish the season with an outstanding 13-1
record; and
WHEREAS, In 2024, the Whitesboro Football Team returned to seize the
Section III Class A Championship again, claiming victory over Corcoran
with a final score of 35-20, finishing the season again with a 13-1
record; and
WHEREAS, Whitesboro Football has become not only a source of
athletic success but also a cornerstone of community identity, inspiring
pride throughout the Mohawk Valley; and
WHEREAS, Whitesboro Football will mark their 100th year on Friday,
August 8, 2025, with a Kickoff Party at the Marcy Town Park, featuring
raffles, skills competitions, and a bottle and can drive, bringing the
community together yet again to share in their history and success; and
WHEREAS, As the Program celebrates this historic centennial
milestone, it reflects on a proud history of achievements, friendships,
and community support while continuing to prepare future generations for
success both on and off the gridiron; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Whitesboro High School Football
Program, honoring its outstanding legacy and its commitment to
excellence; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Whitesboro High School Football Program.
