CONGRATULATING Cathy Piciulo, upon the occasion of
her retirement, as CEO, after 25 years of
distinguished service to the Kenmore-Tonawanda
Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Kenmore-Tonawanda's Chamber of Commerce CEO, Cathy Piciulo,
officially retired on Friday, August 29, 2025; and
WHEREAS, In 2002, Cathy Piciulo joined the Kenmore-Tonawanda Chamber
of Commerce as a board member, quickly transitioning into executive
roles; after a brief hiatus, she was invited back as Executive Director
at a time when the Chamber was facing challenges; and
WHEREAS, One of the challenges the Chamber faced was revenue;
however, under Cathy Piciulo's leadership, the Chamber shifted its
revenue model from insurance to membership dues, sponsorships, and other
member services; and
WHEREAS, Reaching out to her connections, Cathy Piciulo secured
sponsorships from the community, including Kenmore Mercy Hospital;
working with the Town of Tonawanda and local legislators, a $2 million
grant program for businesses in Kenmore-Tonawanda was facilitated in
2021; and
WHEREAS, As Cathy Piciulo steps down, the Chamber will continue its
legacy as a business association which is dedicated to advocacy,
connection, and education; community events, connections, advocacy for
local businesses, and essential educational services are facilitated
through the Chamber; and
WHEREAS, During her retirement, Cathy Piciulo plans to spend more
time with her husband, Mike, who has taken up photography; together,
they will take trips to places like Italy; and
WHEREAS, Cathy Piciulo looks forward to focusing on gardening,
fitness, and spending time outdoors; she would like to learn to speak
Italian and possibly resume playing her flute; and
WHEREAS, Although she will pursue personal interests, Cathy Piciulo
will still be active in the community and continue her work with the
Kenmore Rotary Club as Past President; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her 25 years of dedication and service to the
Kenmore-Tonawanda Chamber of Commerce, Cathy Piciulo has earned the
admiration, esteem, and affection of her colleagues; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Cathy Piciulo, upon the occasion of her retirement, as CEO,
after 25 years of distinguished service to the Kenmore-Tonawanda Chamber
of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cathy Piciulo.
