AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to granting
certain court reporters peace officer status
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subdivision 21 of section 2.10 of the criminal procedure
2 law is amended by adding a new paragraph g to read as follows:
3 g. Court reporters in the first and second departments, provided,
4 however, that nothing in this paragraph shall be deemed to authorize
5 such employees to carry, possess, repair or dispose of a firearm unless
6 the appropriate license therefor has been issued pursuant to section
7 400.00 of the penal law.
8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
