AN ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in
relation to designating the Nature Center at Rockland Lake State Park
as the "Lauren Shields Nature Center"
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The parks, recreation and historic preservation law is
2 amended by adding a new section 13.32 to read as follows:
3 § 13.32 Nature Center to be dedicated to organ donation advocate
4 Lauren Shields. The Nature Center in Rockland Lake State Park in Valley
5 Cottage, county of Rockland, shall be dedicated to organ donation advo-
6 cate Lauren Shields.
7 § 2. The commissioner of parks, recreation and historic preservation
8 shall provide for the installation and maintenance of adequate signing
9 of the Nature Center as dedicated pursuant to section one of this act,
10 and providing information pertaining to organ donation, provided that
11 such signage shall state "The Nature Center Dedicated to Lauren
12 Shields". However, to avoid confusion, the dedication called for pursu-
13 ant to section one of this act shall be one of ceremonial nature and the
14 official name of such nature center shall not be changed as a result of
15 this act.
16 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
