        Introduced  by  Sen. PERSAUD -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Women's Issues
 
        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation  to  establishing  an
          awareness campaign on the use of hormone replacement therapy in treat-
          ing the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 207 of the public  health  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (t) to read as follows:
     3    (t)  Hormone  replacement  therapy, including information on perimeno-
     4  pause and menopause, associated symptoms, and  potential  health  risks;
     5  the value of hormone replacement therapy when used to treat the symptoms
     6  of perimenopause and menopause; the types of hormone replacement therapy
     7  available including benefits, risks and side effects; and current recom-
     8  mendations  for the usage of hormone replacement therapy and other rele-
     9  vant information.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
    11  have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
    12  repeal  of  any  rule  or regulation necessary for the implementation of
    13  this act on its effective date are authorized to be made  and  completed
    14  on or before such effective date.
