AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to requiring the department
of labor to create and maintain a list of available careers and job
listings in the state for veterans
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The labor law is amended by adding a new section 45 to read
2 as follows:
3 § 45. Career and job opportunities for veterans. 1. For the purposes
4 of this section, "veteran" shall have the same meaning as such term is
5 defined in section thirty-two of the veterans' services law.
6 2. The commissioner shall create and maintain a list of available
7 careers and job listings in the state of New York for veterans. The
8 commissioner shall provide such list to the department of veterans'
9 services and shall update such list as necessary to ensure such career
10 and job listings are current. Such list shall be conspicuously placed
11 on the department of veterans' services website.
12 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
