        Introduced  by  Sen. ADDABBO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor -- reported  favora-
          bly  from  said committee, ordered to first and second report, amended
          on second report, ordered to a third reading, and to be  reprinted  as
          amended, retaining its place in the order of third reading
 
        AN ACT to amend the workers' compensation law, in relation to paid fami-
          ly leave and siblings
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 201 of the workers' compensation law is amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 24 to read as follows:
     3    24. "Sibling" means a biological or adopted sibling, a half-sibling or
     4  stepsibling.
     5    §  2.  Subdivision 20 of section 201 of the workers' compensation law,
     6  as added by section 2 of part SS of chapter 54 of the laws of  2016,  is
     7  amended to read as follows:
     8    20.  "Family  member"  means a child, parent, grandparent, grandchild,
     9  sibling, spouse, or domestic partner as defined in this section.
    10    § 3. This act shall take effect on the first of January following  the
    11  first  of  September  next  succeeding  the  date on which it shall have
    12  become a law and shall  apply  to  all  policies  or  contracts  issued,
    13  renewed, modified, altered or amended on or after such date.
