AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in
relation to curb repair
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 19-111 of the administrative code of the city of
2 New York, as amended by local law number 104 of the city of New York for
3 the year 1993, is amended to read as follows:
4 § 19-111 Curbs. All curbs for the support of sidewalks hereafter to be
5 laid shall be of the material or materials, dimensions and construction
6 required in department specifications for such work, which shall be
7 prescribed by the commissioner and kept on file in [his or her] such
8 commissioner's office. All curb and curb cut repairs shall be the
9 responsibility of the department and any owner of a one, two or three
10 family home, after making such owner's request on NYC 311, the official
11 website of the city of New York, shall be entitled to have all repairs
12 completed within a reasonable amount of time. For the purposes of this
13 section, "reasonable amount of time" shall mean ninety days from the
14 date the department receives the complaint. If the repairs are not
15 completed within such time, the homeowner shall be entitled to have all
16 repairs done by a licensed contractor and to receive a property tax
17 credit for the reasonable cost of completing such repair.
18 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
