AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of
the state highway system to the Fallen Skywalkers
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 343-ddd
2 to read as follows:
3 § 343-ddd. Portion of the state highway system to be dedicated to the
4 Fallen Skywalkers. All that portion of the state highway system consti-
5 tuting the bridge beginning at the south terminus road elevation, north
6 of the outer harbor drive exit and spans the Buffalo waterfront until
7 intersecting at the north end with Church street and turns into Delaware
8 avenue in the city of Buffalo in Erie County, shall be dedicated to the
9 Fallen Skywalkers.
10 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
11 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
12 as dedicated pursuant to section one of this act, provided that such
13 signing shall state "Bridge Dedicated to the Fallen Skywalkers". Howev-
14 er, to avoid any confusion and to limit any possible disruption of
15 commerce, the dedication called for pursuant to section one of this act
16 shall be one of ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge
17 shall not be changed as a result of this act.
18 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
