Provides that maximum dimension and weight limitations shall not apply to vehicles proceeding to and from a certain portion of the New York state thruway provided that such vehicles are within compliance of the dimension and weight limitations applicable to the thruway.

AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the maximum
dimension and weight limitations of certain vehicles proceeding to and
from a portion of the New York state thruway
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Paragraph (w) of subdivision 16 of section 385 of the
2 vehicle and traffic law, as added by section 1 of part E of chapter 58
3 of the laws of 2020, is amended to read as follows:
4 (w) Within a distance of approximately [.25] 1.9 miles from the New
5 York state thruway interchange 25A, traveling in a westbound direction
6 along interstate route 88 to exit 25 to state route 7, and to a left on
7 Becker road traveling in a southbound direction on Becker road for
8 approximately .2 miles to the [New York state thruway interchange 25A
9 tandem lot access road,] intersection of Becker road and state route 7,
10 and traveling in an eastbound direction for approximately 1.4 miles on
11 state route 7 to the intersection of state route 7 and Dunnsville road
12 and then traveling in a southbound direction on Dunnsville road for
13 approximately .3 miles where the commissioner of transportation deter-
14 mines that the vehicle or combination of vehicles could operate safely
15 along the designated route and that no applicable federal law, regu-
16 lation or other requirement prohibits the operation of such vehicle or
17 combination of vehicles on such route.
18 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
