        Introduced  by  Sens.  GALLIVAN,  BORRELLO,  MATTERA, MURRAY, OBERACKER,
          RHOADS -- read twice and ordered  printed,  and  when  printed  to  be
          committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military
          Affairs
 
        AN  ACT to amend the military law, in relation to authorizing the carry-
          ing of firearms by military personnel at recruiting centers
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  The military law is amended by adding a new section 53 to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 53. Carrying of firearms at recruiting centers. Notwithstanding  any
     4  other provision of law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the adjutant
     5  general  shall  authorize  members of any force of the organized militia
     6  assigned to duty at recruiting centers located in  the  state  to  carry
     7  service-issue firearms while on duty at a recruiting center.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
