        Introduced  by  Sen.  CLEARE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Housing, Construction  and
          Community  Development  --  recommitted  to  the Committee on Housing,
          Construction and Community Development in accordance with Senate  Rule
          6,  sec.  8 -- reported favorably from said committee and committed to
          the Committee  on  Finance  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended,
          ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  executive  law, in relation to compensation for
          required code enforcement personnel training
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Section 376-a of the executive law is amended by adding a
     2  new subdivision 5 to read as follows:
     3    5. Subject to the amounts appropriated  for  this  purpose,  all  code
     4  enforcement  personnel  shall be paid for any training required pursuant
     5  to the provisions of this section at a rate  set  by  the  secretary  of
     6  state.    Such  rate shall not be less than the code enforcement person-
     7  nel's regular rate of pay, or less than any rate of pay specified  in  a
     8  collective  bargaining  agreement covering such code enforcement person-
     9  nel.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
    11  have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
    12  repeal  of  any  rule  or regulation necessary for the implementation of
    13  this act on its effective date are authorized to be made  and  completed
    14  on or before such effective date.
