AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of
the state highway system to "Port Authority police officer Frederick
G. Maley"
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-r to
2 read as follows:
3 § 344-r. Portion of the state highway system to be dedicated to "Port
4 Authority police officer Frederick G. Maley". All that portion of the
5 state highway system constituting Newbridge Road from its intersection
6 with North Jerusalem Road to its intersection with East Meadow Ave with-
7 in the hamlet of North Bellmore, town of Hempstead, county of Nassau,
8 shall be dedicated to "Port Authority police officer Frederick G.
9 Maley".
10 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
11 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
12 as dedicated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid
13 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the dedi-
14 cation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of
15 ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway shall not be
16 changed as a result of this act.
17 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
