        Introduced  by Sens. LANZA, STEC, BORRELLO, MARTINS, MATTERA, OBERACKER,
          RHOADS, TEDISCO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to
          be committed to the Committee on New York City Education
 
        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to prohibiting the  hous-
          ing of migrants in schoolhouses or on such grounds

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 2590-h of the education law is amended by adding  a
     2  new subdivision 57 to read as follows:
     3    57. Establish a policy prohibiting schoolhouses and grounds from being
     4  used  for  the  purposes of providing permanent or temporary housing for
     5  migrant populations.
     6    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided that the  amend-
     7  ments to section 2590-h of the education law made by section one of this
     8  act  shall  not  affect the expiration and reversion of such section and
     9  shall expire and be deemed repealed therewith.
