AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to eligibility for
medical assistance
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 4 of section 366 of the social
2 services law is amended by adding new subparagraph 4 to read as follows:
3 (4) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, for the period of July
4 two thousand twenty-three through July two thousand twenty-four, each
5 child eligible for medical assistance in the month immediately preceding
6 the month in which such child became ineligible for such assistance,
7 shall remain eligible for medical assistance for an additional six
8 calendar months beginning with the month ineligibility for such assist-
9 ance begins.
10 § 2. Section 366 of the social services law is amended by adding a new
11 subdivision 17 to read as follows:
12 17. For the period of July two thousand twenty-three through July two
13 thousand twenty-four, a child born to a woman eligible for medical
14 assistance on the date of the child's birth and a child under the age of
15 nineteen who is determined eligible for medical assistance under the
16 provisions of this section shall be granted continued eligibility pend-
17 ing a redetermination of eligibility, to begin no earlier than July two
18 thousand twenty-four.
19 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
