          printed to be committed to the Committee on Cities 1
 
        AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the  city  of  New  York,  in
          relation  to  requiring  notification of residents who are potentially
          affected by a serious health threat to their water system

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1. Section 17-194.1 of the administrative code of the city of
     2  New York is amended by adding a new subdivision n to read as follows:
     3    n. Notice requirements. In all cases where the results of the investi-
     4  gation conducted pursuant to subdivision e of this  section  indicate  a
     5  serious  health  threat,  the  department  shall  notify all potentially
     6  affected residents within 24 hours,  including  all  adjacent  buildings
     7  that share the same underlying water system.
     8    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
