AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to requiring the
developmental disabilities advisory council to submit an annual
comprehensive summary of information about its activities to the
office for people with developmental disabilities' website
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subdivision (h) of section 13.05 of the mental hygiene law,
2 as added by a chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the mental hygiene
3 law relating to requiring the developmental disabilities advisory coun-
4 cil to submit an annual report on the activities of the council, as
5 proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 7793 and A. 7560-A, is amended
6 to read as follows:
7 (h) The developmental disabilities advisory council shall [submit a
8 report yearly to the governor, the temporary president of the senate and
9 the speaker of the assembly on the activities of the council. Such
10 report shall be delivered by the thirty-first of December of each calen-
11 dar year and shall be posted] publish a comprehensive summary of infor-
12 mation about their activities to the [department's] office's website
13 annually, in an accessible format. Such [report] information shall
14 include, at minimum:
15 1. actions taken to foster public understanding and acceptance of
16 developmental disabilities;
17 2. recommendations made to the commissioner related to statewide
18 priorities and goals for services for individuals with developmental
19 disabilities, and the implementation of the statewide comprehensive plan
20 as required under section 5.07 of this chapter; and
21 3. any other actions taken by the council related to their duties.
22 § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same
23 manner as a chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the mental hygiene law
24 relating to requiring the developmental disabilities advisory council to
25 submit an annual report on the activities of the council, as proposed in
26 legislative bills numbers S. 7793 and A. 7560-A, takes effect.
