AN ACT to amend the public housing law, in relation to priority appli-
cants under the housing access voucher pilot program
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 608 of the public housing law, as
2 added by section 1 of part HH of chapter 56 of the laws of 2025, is
3 amended to read as follows:
4 3. Priority shall both be given to applicants who are homeless and to
5 applicants who are at risk of losing their federal rental subsidy due to
6 the imminent termination, reduction of funding, or changes in eligibil-
7 ity in federal law or policy of the federal program that provides such
8 rental subsidy. The commissioner shall have the discretion to establish
9 further priorities as appropriate.
10 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that
11 the amendments to subdivision 3 of section 608 of the public housing law
12 made by section one of this act shall not affect the expiration of such
13 subdivision and shall expire therewith.
