        Introduced  by  Sen. HELMING -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation  to  the  prose-
          cution  of  leaving the scene of an accident that results in the death
          of another person
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Short  title. This act shall be known and may be cited as
     2  "Pete's Law".
     3    § 2. Subdivision 3 of section 30.10 of the criminal procedure  law  is
     4  amended by adding a new paragraph (i) to read as follows:
     5    (i)  A prosecution for any violation of subparagraph (ii) of paragraph
     6  c of subdivision two of section six hundred of the vehicle  and  traffic
     7  law may be commenced at any time.
     8    § 3. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
     9  it shall have become a law.
