AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to
prohibiting certain restrictions on motor vehicle sales
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 19-0323 of the environmental conservation law is
2 amended by adding a new subdivision 9 to read as follows:
3 9. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, no agency,
4 department, or division of state government, or a municipality, shall
5 regulate or restrict the use or sale of motor vehicles by the public
6 based on the energy source or fuel used to power a motor vehicle,
7 including propulsion or for powering other functions of such motor vehi-
8 cle.
9 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
