| Makes various changes to article 81 of the mental hygiene law relating to the appointment of guardians for personal needs or property management; includes changes to the service of the order to show cause, manner of service and notice of proceeding; allows for the court to make findings on the record as to whether the incapacitated person should receive copies of the initial and annual report; provides for the guardian to send a copy of the initial report by mail; and allows the court for good cause to dispense with a hearing; makes additional clarifications. |
