        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to the sale of tobac-
          co products over the internet
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.   The public health law is amended by adding a new section
     2  1399-dd-1 to read as follows:
     3    § 1399-dd-1. Retail shipment of tobacco products.   Before  a  company
     4  may  ship  tobacco products to an individual attempting to purchase such
     5  products, over the internet or otherwise, such company shall send a form
     6  to the individual requesting an authorized signature that such  individ-
     7  ual  is  eighteen  years of age or older. Upon receipt of such form such
     8  company may then ship the tobacco products.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
    10  have become a law.
