AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to increasing the minimum
tuition assistance program award
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subparagraph (vi) of paragraph a of subdivision 3 of
2 section 667 of the education law, as amended by section 1 of part B of
3 chapter 60 of the laws of 2000, is amended and a new subparagraph (vii)
4 is added to read as follows:
5 (vi) For the two thousand two--two thousand three through two thousand
6 twenty-three--two thousand twenty-four academic [year and thereafter]
7 years, the award shall be the net amount of the base amount determined
8 pursuant to subparagraph (i) of this paragraph reduced pursuant to
9 subparagraph (ii) or (iii) of this paragraph but the award shall not be
10 reduced below five hundred dollars.
11 (vii) For the two thousand twenty-four--two thousand twenty-five
12 academic year and thereafter, the award shall be the net amount of the
13 base amount determined pursuant to subparagraph (i) of this paragraph
14 reduced pursuant to subparagraph (ii) or (iii) of this paragraph but the
15 award shall not be reduced below one thousand dollars.
16 § 2. This act shall take effect June 1, 2024.
