Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 176 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY (Prefiled) January 4, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. GANTT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the issuance of special combination license plates for the severely disabled The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 404-a of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows: 3 2-a. Registration of vehicles owned by persons who qualify for a 4 distinctive license plate or who request a special number plate. The 5 commissioner shall, upon request, issue special number plates or 6 distinctive license plates as otherwise provided for in this article, 7 which plates shall also bear the distinctive marks as authorized in this 8 section. Such combination plates shall be issued in the same manner as 9 is otherwise provided for in this article upon payment of any fee or 10 other applicable service charge as therein required. 11 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of April next succeeding 12 the date on which it shall have become a law.
