Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 192 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY (Prefiled) January 4, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. MAGNARELLI -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to the transfer of funds from a candidate's political committee for a federal office to a candidate's political committee for a state, county or local office The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 14-114 of the election law is 2 amended by adding a new paragraph g to read as follows: 3 g. The transfer of funds from a candidate's political committee for a 4 federal office to a candidate's political committee for a state, county 5 or local office shall be restricted per the contribution limits 6 prescribed in paragraphs a and b of this subdivision. For the purposes 7 of this section a federal candidate committee shall be treated as an 8 individual contributor. 9 § 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall 10 have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. LBD00284-01-3
