        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to enacting  the  "public
          internet access safety act"
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Short title.  This act shall be known and may be  cited  as
     2  the "public internet access safety act".
     3    §  2.  The  executive  law is amended by adding a new section 843-a to
     4  read as follows:
     5    § 843-a. Public library homepage on the internet; warning.    Notwith-
     6  standing any other provision of law, rule or regulation to the contrary,
     7  the  division shall establish and maintain an internet website providing
     8  information to minors on the  potential  dangers  to  minors  using  the
     9  internet  concerning,  but  not limited to, sexual predators, safe blog-
    10  ging, on-line bullying, social networking safety, and such other  inter-
    11  net  safety  information  as  the  division deems appropriate, and every
    12  public library system shall make the homepage of this website the  home-
    13  page  of  its  website  providing  internet access to minors in a public
    14  library.
    15    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
