AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to assistant district attor-
neys
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subdivision 6 of section 702 of the county law, as added by
2 chapter 857 of the laws of 1974, is amended to read as follows:
3 6. Notwithstanding any provision of law with respect to requirements
4 of residence, a district attorney of a county within a city having a
5 population of one million or more may appoint one or more assistant
6 district attorneys who are not residents of such county[, but who reside
7 within the geographical territory of such city].
8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
