AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requirements for
in-service training programs for code enforcement personnel
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Paragraph (h) of subdivision 2 to 376-a of the executive
2 law, as amended by a chapter of the laws of 2022 amending the executive
3 law relating to minimum standards for code enforcement personnel, as
4 proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 532-A and A. 276-A, is amended
5 to read as follows:
6 (h) The requirements for in-service training programs designed to
7 assist code enforcement personnel in maintaining skills and being
8 informed of technological advances which shall [include an annual mini-
9 mum of ten hours for building safety inspectors and twenty-six hours for
10 code enforcement officials, and] include topics on changes in law,
11 advancements in construction techniques, or detection and remediation of
12 common violations of the uniform code and/or energy code;
13 § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same
14 manner as a chapter of the laws of 2022 amending the executive law
15 relating to minimum standards for code enforcement personnel, as
16 proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 532-A and A. 276-A, takes
17 effect.
