          to the Committee on Cities
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  administrative code of the city of New York, in
          relation to requiring  a  sex  crime  safety  program  for  commercial
          passenger drivers
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is  amended
     2  by adding a new section 19-551 to read as follows:
     3    § 19-551 Sex crime education program. The commissioner shall develop a
     4  program  that  will  educate  drivers  of  taxicabs, coaches, wheelchair
     5  accessible vans, commuter vans and for-hire vehicles on the  dangers  of
     6  prostitution  and  the  legal  ramifications of trafficking prostitutes.
     7  Completion of such program by such drivers shall be  a  requirement  for
     8  initial licensure and subsequent license renewal.
     9    §  2. This act shall take effect six months after it shall have become
    10  a law.
