        Introduced  by  M.  of  A.  ROSENTHAL  --  read once and referred to the
          Committee on Consumer Affairs and Protection
 
        AN ACT to amend the general business  law,  in  relation  to  increasing
          fines for selling and manufacturing fur-bearing articles of clothing
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 399-aaa of  the  general  business
     2  law,  as added by chapter 611 of the laws of 2007, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    4. A violation of this section shall be punishable by a  fine  of  not
     5  more  than  [five  hundred] one thousand dollars for the first violation
     6  and not more  than  [one]  two  thousand  dollars  for  each  subsequent
     7  violation.
     8    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
     9  have become a law.
