        AN  ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to prohibiting the
          state or any of its political subdivisions and public authorities from
          compelling domestic abuse victims to contact  their  abusers  for  any
          reason
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The social services law is amended by adding a new  section
     2  459-h to read as follows:
     3    §  459-h.  Contact  with  abuser shall not be compelled.   Neither the
     4  state nor  any  political  subdivision  thereof,  public  authority,  or
     5  employee  or  agent  thereof shall in any way force or compel a domestic
     6  violence victim, as defined in this article, to contact his or her abus-
     7  er, directly or indirectly, for any reason whatsoever.

     8    § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
     9  have become a law.
