        Introduced  by  M.  of  A. M. G. MILLER -- read once and referred to the
          Committee on Election Law
 
        AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to requiring each  polling
          site to provide voting booths designed for elderly or disabled voters
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 8-104 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
     2  new subdivision 1-b to read as follows:
     3    1-b.  Each  polling  place shall have at least two voting booths which
     4  are designed to be used by elderly  or  disabled  persons.  Such  booths
     5  shall  have  a  surface  which  is at a level permitting the voter to be
     6  seated and a chair shall be available and provided  as  needed  for  any
     7  voter who wishes to be seated while casting his or her ballot.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
