Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 1816 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY January 23, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. GOODELL -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Labor AN ACT providing requirements for sick leave when such employee is subject to a mandatory or precautionary order of quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19 The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Each employee who is subject to a mandatory or precaution- 2 ary order of quarantine or isolation issued by the state of New York, 3 the department of health, local board of health, or any governmental 4 entity duly authorized to issue such order due to COVID-19 shall be 5 entitled to take sick leave until the termination of any such mandatory 6 or precautionary order of quarantine or isolation. During the sick leave 7 related to such mandatory or precautionary quarantine or isolation, an 8 employee shall be eligible for paid family leave benefits to the extent 9 that such sick leave is not otherwise paid by an employer pursuant to 10 the employer's personnel policies or collective bargaining agreement. 11 § 2.
