        Introduced by M. of A. HAWLEY, DiPIETRO, BLANKENBUSH, PALMESANO, MONTES-
          ANO,  DeSTEFANO,  SMULLEN,  SALKA  --  read  once  and referred to the
          Committee on Local Governments
 
        AN ACT to amend the village law, in relation  to  volunteer  members  of
          village fire companies

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 14 of section 10-1006 of  the  village  law  is
     2  amended to read as follows:
     3    14.  A  village  board of trustees may not adopt a local law changing,
     4  amending or superseding this section, except for  subdivision  seven  of
     5  this section.
     6    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
