        Introduced  by M. of A. MAGEE -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Energy
 
        AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to  payments  of
          grants to farm operations by NYSERDA
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 14 of section 1854 of  the  public  authorities
     2  law,  as  added by chapter 83 of the laws of 1995, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    14. (a) To apply for and to administer federal research  and  develop-
     5  ment grants and other monies for the benefit of consumers.
     6    (b)  To  make  payments  to farm operations, as defined by subdivision
     7  eleven of section three hundred one of the agriculture and markets  law,
     8  for  grants  administered by the authority. Payment of such grants shall
     9  be made no later than ninety days after  notification  of  such  funding
    10  award.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
