AN ACT to amend the town law, in relation to changes in zoning
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The opening paragraph of subdivision 1 of section 265 of
2 the town law, as amended by chapter 606 of the laws of 1990, is amended
3 to read as follows:
4 Such regulations, restrictions and boundaries may from time to time be
5 amended. Such amendment shall be effected by a simple majority vote of
6 the town board, except that if the town board consists of four or more
7 members, that any such amendment shall require the approval of at least
8 three-fourths of the members of the town board in the event such amend-
9 ment is the subject of a written protest, presented to the town board
10 and signed by:
11 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
