AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to immunization
requirements for certain camp employees
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 1394 of the public health law is amended by adding
2 a new subdivision 6 to read as follows:
3 6. The commissioner shall promulgate rules and regulations requiring
4 each children's overnight camp, summer day camp and traveling summer day
5 camp to ensure that employees working at such camps be immunized against
6 mumps, measles, rubella, diphtheria, varicella, pertussis and tetanus.
7 This subdivision shall not apply to employees who hold genuine and
8 sincere religious beliefs which are contrary to the practices required
9 by this subdivision.
10 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
