          Committee on Libraries and Education Technology
 
        AN  ACT to amend the education law, in relation to providing funding for
          the library of The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen  of  the

          City of New York
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 1 of  section  273  of  the  education  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph o to read as follows:
     3    o.  In  addition to any other sums provided to such library the sum of
     4  two hundred thousand dollars shall be payable annually to the library of
     5  The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen of the City of  New  York
     6  for  each calendar year for making its library services available to the
     7  public.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect April 1, 2012.
