        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  administrative code of the city of New York, in
          relation to tenant screening reports
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Section  20-808 of the administrative code of the city of
     2  New York is amended by adding a new subdivision c to read as follows:
     3    c. If the person  requesting  the  information  takes  adverse  action
     4  against  a  prospective  tenant  or  tenants on the basis of information
     5  contained in a tenant screening report, such  person  shall  verify  the
     6  accuracy  of  the  social security number of such tenant or tenants with
     7  such tenant or tenants before such person rejects the rental application
     8  submitted by such tenant or tenants.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
