          on Governmental Operations
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  executive  law,  in relation to who may request
          studies and analyses of the administration or operation of a  criminal
          justice agency
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 837 of the executive law, as added
     2  by chapter 399 of the laws of 1972 and as renumbered by chapter  603  of
     3  the laws of 1973, is amended to read as follows:
     4    5. Conduct studies and analyses of the administration or operations of
     5  any criminal justice agency when requested by the head of such agency or
     6  the  municipality,  county  executive  or  legislative body of which the
     7  agency is located, and make the results thereof available for the  bene-
     8  fit of such agency;
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
