Requires every owner of one or more towing vehicles licensed to do business within New York state to provide to the company issuing insurance on such vehicles, the name and driver's license number of every driver authorized to operate such vehicle; provides that such information shall be delivered in writing to the insurer within fourteen business days of the hearing of any such new authorized driver.

AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring
the owner of a tow truck to provide certain information to its insurer
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new
2 section 397-c to read as follows:
3 § 397-c. Insurer notification required; tow truck owners. Every owner
4 of one or more towing vehicles licensed to do business within this state
5 shall provide to the company issuing insurance on such vehicles, the
6 name and driver's license number of every driver authorized to operate
7 such vehicle. Such information shall be in writing and delivered to the
8 insurer within fourteen business days of the hiring of such driver.
9 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
