        Introduced  by M. of A. CLARK -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Health
 
        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation  to  prohibiting  the
          use or sale of food products made with high-fructose corn syrup
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The public health law is amended by adding  a  new  section
     2  1352-e to read as follows:
     3    § 1352-e. High-fructose corn syrup; prohibition. No food item or prod-
     4  uct  containing high-fructose corn syrup shall be sold, stored, distrib-
     5  uted, held for service, or used in preparation of any food product to be
     6  served or sold in any restaurants, food service  establishments,  retail
     7  food  stores  as  defined in section five hundred of the agriculture and
     8  markets law, and other food establishments. The commissioner is  author-
     9  ized  and  directed  to  promulgate  rules  and regulations necessary to
    10  implement the provisions of this section.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
